Abstract : | Due to the moving nature of military communication units, there should be overlaid regions where a conventional macro-cell and the moving military units represented by microcell use the same frequency band. Therefore, co-channel interference (CCI) might result in severe capacity degradation of the MWiMAX system. For a performance metric to evaluate the overlay M-WiMAX system, we define exclusion region where the frequency reuse between the macro-cell and micro-cell is prohibited because the sum capacity of the macro-cell and the micro-cell is less than the capacity of only the macro-cell due to increase in CCI caused by the micro-cell. In our result, it is shown that the exclusion region can be reduced up to 84.6% by utilizing sectorization antenna and the FFR techniques. |
