Abstract : In asynchronous environments, the filter bank multicarrier (FBMC) technique would be an attractive candidate for full-duplex (FD) systems due to its well-localized pulses in time and frequency domains. We analyzed the digital selfinterference cancellation (SIC) performances of a two general structures of FD-FBMC: frequency spreading (FS) and polyphase network (PPN). Numerical results show that the FS-FBMC schemes perfectly eliminate self-interference but PPN-FBMC schemes have severe BER performance degradation because of its data-dependent channel estimation coefficients. Furthermore, it is observed that the digital SIC performance degrades as a channel selectivity increases.
