Abstract : | In this paper, an improved lower bound on the burst-error correcting capability (BECC) of a cyclic product code is presented. Through the analysis of this new bound, a Clustered Cyclic Product (CCP) code is proposed. It combines clustering and transmission of a product code without losing its random-error correcting capability. A performance comparison in the Digital Video Camera Recors (DVCR) system shows the superiority of the proposed CCP code over conventional product codes. |
